Most women especially Asian women all love the lip colours MAC & Bobbi Brown have to offer. It can be addictive at times as you tend to want all of them!

Asian women have a lot choice when it comes to colours & also at the same time there are some shades that won't suit us. It's important to find shades that suit our skin tone.

Below is my personal collection

Red

Funnily enough, I didn’t wear a red lip colour on my wedding day even though it’s the colour to wear on your big day. However since my outfit was a deep red with green I opted for a neutral colour, which actually looked amazing & completed the look so well. All credit to Ambreen who created flawless looks for all my functions.

I didn’t feel confident to wear red till much later. With a red you have to ensure it’s the right shade for your skin tone otherwise it can look so wrong! I never knew which red would suit my skin tone but a friend recommended Ruby Woo, which is great for all Asian skin tones. Ruby Woo comes in a matte finish so you need to ensure you buy the lip liner to avoid bleeding & to ensure a neat finish. As well as this you need to have exfoliated & moisturised your lips well.

Pink's

The shades of pinks available are endless & you really have to make sure you don’t end up with similar shades.

Nude Pink

Nude pinks are always a good one to have especially to use if you’re planning to go for bolder eyes or to wear light/pastel summer clothing. There’s nothing worse than wearing a light/floral summery dress & then having a bright pink colour. Like nude shoes & bras are an essential in any woman wardrobe so are nude lip colours.

Below are the two nude pinks I have in my collection from MAC. Brave is in a sateen finish & modesty is in a creemsheen finish. Funnily enough, I bought Modesty online without trying it on & it was perfect!

As you can see below both look similar however modesty is a very nude subtle pink whereas Brave is slightly brighter pink. I teamed Brave with a light salmon pink Bridesmaid dress.

MAC - Both £15.50 each

Another pink, which is a great everyday casual pink to use, is partial to pink. It’s a pearly summery pink & I love using it as a day colour in the summer.

Mac - Partial to Pink - £17.50

Deeper Pink

For a slightly deeper pink, the two I have in my collection are Offshoot in a creemsheen & Syrup in a Lustre finish. Both are from MAC. For syrup, I use the Absolutely it lipliner.

Both these pinks are a deeper shade which is great to use for the evening however I like using syrup during the day as well if I’m going out somewhere nice.

MAC - Both £15.50

Bright Pinks

I absolutely love my bright pink shades & there’s so many to choose from. I currently have a beautiful bright pop pink from Bobbi Brown called Cosmic Pink; this is also very similar to MAC girl about town.

The second colour is a coral pink. As much I love coral a pure orange coral doesn’t suit my skin tone & you’ll find being Asian you will need to find a pink-based coral to suit your skin. The one below is from Bobbi Brown from their luxe lip collection, which is called Pink Guava.

Bobbi Brown Cosmic Pink £23 & Bobbi Brown Pink Guava £25

Nudes

Having a complete natural nude is always great especially if you want to go for really heavy eyes & keep the lips natural & simple. I like to wear nudes when I’m going out somewhere casual & just want a nice sheen & natural tint to my lips.

Below is really nice creamy nude by Dior called Incognito at £26.50

Another colour I use which, I’ve actually run of out of is a MAC creemsheen lipgloss called Deelight. Another great mid tone neutral with a fab gloss finish.

The Coco Chick

The above is my own personal collection & I find I always have a colour to go with everything I wear. I would like to grow my collection with some glossy reds; definitely some more pinks especially bright shades. I think I would also like to toy around with some darker deeper colours as well some brown-based lip tones.

As well investing in loads of colours a few things to remember when applying your lippy try to use a lip liner, a good lip scrub & a primer. I use MAC primer for my lips, which smoothens my lips as well ensuring the colour, stays on a lot longer.
