‘Give us your body & we’ll give you your mind” – BodyHoliday

The above is exactly what my husband & I did in St Lucia & we loved every moment! The BodyHoliday is a resort, which offers a luxury break by incorporating fitness & wellbeing under one roof.
What to Expect
When booking the BodyHoliday the resort is generally offered as a package with flights. The resort is all inclusive which means the below is all included.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Afternoon Tea everyday at 4pm.
All beverages including premium alcohol. (There are a few premium brands you would need to pay for)
50 minute spa treatment everyday. (Treatments cannot be taken on the day you arrive & leave)
Use of the gym, tennis court & all fitness classes including a 30 minute complimentary session with a PT. There are many other activities on offer.
Watersports however certain activities such as scuba diving would incur a charge.
A café where you can order unlimited number of fresh fruit, vegetable or protein smoothies. Sandwiches, cakes & cookies, which are freshly made on a daily basis.
Once you have booked your trip I strongly recommend you go onto their website to register an account; this will allow you to pre book all your spa treatments. I do advise this as slots are taken up very quickly.
Arrival at BodyHoliday
When you arrive in St Lucia bear in mind it’s a 2-hour drive from the airport to the hotel. If you suffer from car sickness I suggest you take something as the roads have many bends & hilly roads. There is another option of taking a helicopter & having your bags arrive by car.
When you arrive at the BodyHoliday your bags will be taken & you will be escorted to reception. Apart form the general check in you will be given a timetable of all fitness classes, activities, spa treatments that I booked online, timings for lunch & dinner along with the cuisines that will be served during the week. You’ll also have a menu of all the smoothies & juices available at the café.
You will approximately arrive when afternoon tea is being served, so it’s a perfect time to sit outside to read & plan your week ahead.
Food
The food at the BodyHoliday is just simply delicious! All items are freshly made on a daily basis; there are plenty of gluten free options as well clean options such as salads & grilled meat. I never saw French fires ever being served or available on any type of menu. It was the first time I went on holiday & I didn’t eat fries! In the evening you can choose from four different places to eat Clubhouse, Cariblue, Tao & Cariblue Windows.
Cariblue has a 3-4-course menu every evening of which you can choose form a normal menu or menu guided by a nutritionist. The Clubhouse tends to be more casual where they serve freshly grilled fish or chicken with salad, fresh wood over pizza & other themes such as Italian etc. The local fish there is Mahi Mahi, which is extremely tasty especially grilled with the spices they use. If chilly sauce is something you enjoy, do try their local one.
Tao is a fusion restaurant they have inside the resort. On your arrival they will give you a pre booked time & date as they do become extremely busy. Just to give you an idea of the food we ate please see below pictures. Each dish we ate was well balanced with flavours & just simply mouth-watering!

Cariblue window is Cariblue transformed into a chic restaurant in the evening. Cariblue Windows is a lot more formal & tends to be a French inspired menu. We did not however try this as we were enjoying all different cuisines that were on offer everyday along with visiting Tao twice.
If your wondering if they serve desserts in such a place then yes they do! One thing I did notice was that the dessert portion was a miniature size. I thought it was a great concept as I personally thought it’s a way of reminding people that everything can be enjoyed but in moderation.
Overall the food is just simply amazing, fresh, healthy & tasty. You can’t go wrong for choice or the variety they have to offer. Everyday at 4pm afternoon tea is served with a variety of sandwiches, cakes, pastries, teas & coffees. You can never go hungry & you really are spoilt for choice!
Spa & Activities
The spa treatments are a daily 50-minute treatment. The treatments that are included have to be chosen from a pre-selected list. The list does include facials, body scrubs & different types of massages. There are further treatments you can have done at a normal spa charge, however the list will keep you busy. :)
The number of activities available are endless & at times it’s confusing what to do. There are plenty of fat burning classes, fun dance classes, yoga, meditation as well as water sports. I mainly made use of the gym as well taking part in a few dance classes, water aerobics & a leg, bums & tum class. Don’t underestimate the instructors thinking they will go easy on you as your on holiday; they will make you work!
The Coco Chick Review
The BodyHoliday is an adult only resort of which the minimum age is 16. If someone asked me to rate this resort I would give it 10 out 10 without thinking twice. My husband & I really spent quality time with each other as well as being able to completely switch off. We found we were asleep by 10pm & up by 6:30-7am everyday. It sounds crazy waking up so early whilst on holiday, however you feel so alive & wanting to start your day that waking up doesn’t feel like a chore.
Some of my favourite moments were simply eating breakfast overlooking a crystal clear beach with temperatures of 35 degrees, lazing on a beach bed with a glass of prosecco watching the sun set & having a head & back massage outside on the terrace during sunset & listening to waves. Simply just bliss!
Everything about this resort met my expectations from the food, spa, and activities & not to mention the amazing hospitality. The local people are so friendly & you'll be well taken care of during your stay. I’m hoping we can go again & it’s truly a resort you can visit more than once.
If you want to book a trip to St Lucia, Virgin & BA fly direct from Gatwick. Peak time the prices are sky high, however we risked it & booked off peak. We were extremely lucky that it only rained late at night whilst sleeping otherwise it was 35 degrees everyday. :)
Below is the BodyHoliday website so you can see the full extent of what they have to offer.
